Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have a piano at home, can my child still take lessons?       This is a great question.  We suggest investing in a keyboard - or an acoustic piano if you have the space.  We can help you with pricing, and if you have a lead on an acoustic piano - please let us know and we will go and check it out for you.  You will need an instrument that has 88 weighted keys to practice upon.

How long should my child practice?  Every child is different, however the average practice time we suggest for beginner students ranges between 10-20 minutes per day.  More advanced students should make an effort to practice between 30- 45 minutes per day.   We believe that music should be enjoyable so practicing does not always need to be done in one “shot” - try taking a break during a longer practice session, or even playing a practice game to make achieving your goals more exciting.

What if we miss a lesson?  If you miss a lesson due to illness and give the studio a call, we will make every effort to reschedule your lesson- life happens!  If you miss a lesson but do not make an effort to contact the studio you will be charged for that lesson.  There will be times when the studio cancels a lesson - you will know in advance of your time and every effort will be made to reschedule at your convenience.

When do I pay?   Payment for music lessons is due at the beginning of the month.  This means that the first lesson of any given month you are expected to bring payment for that month.  We accept e-transfers for your convenience.

How much are lessons?  Lesson fees are $20/30 minute lessons or $40/hour lessons.  We also have a budget plan for $90/month.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC

Do you do Birthday Parties?   Thank you for thinking of us!  However we are educators and not entertainers.  If you are looking for entertainment for your child's birthday party we can offer suggestions.

What is the right age for my child to start lessons?   Every child is different.  You know your child best.  We suggest that if a child can sit for 15 minutes consistently and concentrate for that length of time, they may be ready for lessons.  We'd love to meet you and your child in order to assess if lessons at this time are right for your child and for our studio!
